How to run an introduction presentation event

Giving What We Can is happy to have someone give a presentation at your event, or you can give your own talk about Giving What We Can or effective giving.

We can easily do a standard "pitch" talk which outlines Giving What We Can and effective giving, or even customise the talk to your audience. You are also welcome to use/adapt our standard intro deck (template & resources below) to give your own talk, or play a pre-recorded talk.

Please contact us at community@givingwhatwecan.org if you would like help with your presentation or would like us to give a presentation for your event.

Intro talk template & guide

You are welcome to use or adapt this standard introductory presentation (script is in presenter notes).

If you plan to heavily adapt the talk, we suggest familiarising yourself with a few key resources, to ensure you represent the principles of effective giving as accurately as possible:

Resources to review prior to giving an intro talk
(We recommend these for your own context — the 100x and DCP2 data posts are not necessarily designed for an intro audience given the level of detail included.)

Pre-recorded talks

We recommend letting the audience know that — while the general principles hold true — some of the specific stats may be out of date, depending on when the talk was recorded.
